From point cloud to 3D BIM model: maximum planning reliability and efficiency thanks to laser scanning technology

Our team recently carried out a precise survey of the existing building geometry for the conversion of an existing plant. Planning projects in existing structures is often a challenge, as the conditions are complex, the response and deployment times are very short and the required measurements push the limits of what is technically possible.

We use 3D laser scanning to cost-effectively create models of spatial conditions, which then serve as the basis for further planning. This state-of-the-art technology enables non-contact, rapid recording, which is particularly advantageous for existing buildings. Based on a detailed 3D point cloud, we create a true-to-deformation 3D BIM model for further planning and also make it available to other specialist planners.
